Reality Student Ministries has an exciting new tool for parents to stay connected and up to date with what their students are learning. This new tool is an app you can download right to your phone that allows you to get weekly updates about sermon series, messages, Scripture verses, and even activities you can do with your students or questions you can ask them to help cement what they have learned. Your students need to know that you not only care about them, but that you actually know everything! 😉 So put some fear in them by asking them specific questions about the message on Wednesday night and watch their faces change as they respond, how did you know? Then reply that you have a special relationship with God and you always know what is going on with them! 😉 The app really is easy to use and you will have fun staying on top of what is going on at RSM. Just go and download the app in the App Store called Parent Cue, add your children, link to the church Painesville Assembly of God, and start getting great updates! The app also will give you great tips for talking to and discipling your student through their specific phase in life. Download the app and give it a try!
Tonight at RSM we are going to be encouraging students to take the Thirty Challenge. The Thirty Challenge is a challenge to spend 30 minutes with God each day for the next thirty days. Is there a better way to start off the new year than a commitment to grow in our relationship with God? We don’t think so! We are pairing the Thirty Challenge with a sermon series on the Psalms of ascent we are calling Ascend because in 2019 we plan to ascend in our faith. Students will be completing the Thirty Challenge within their Reality Groups, but they are only with their Reality Group Leader once a week and they are with you every day, so we want to encourage you to ask your student if you can do the Thirty Challenge with them and make it a family resolution to ascend in your faith together!
It is almost here! On December 19th back at RSM we will be having our annual Christmas party! We will be playing some awesome games, having an ugly Christmas sweater contest, and doing a gift exchange! For the ugly Christmas sweater contest there will be four different categories and a winner for each category. The categories are: All Around Ugliest, Most Adorable, Best Homemade, and Most Likely to be Owned by Your Grandma. For the gift exchange we ask that each student bring a small wrapped gender neutral gift worth under $5. Our Christmas party is one of the greatest events of the year so make sure your student is there and doesn’t miss out on this awesome event!
This Wednesday from 6-8:30pm we will be at the home of the O’Leary’s to pass out candy, hot chocolate, hot dogs, and church invites to our community! We will not be having our regular RSM service this week. Please drop your students off at 6pm and pick them up at 8:30pm. Thanks!
It is that time of year! It is our desire that every student coming to Reality Student Ministries participate in Fine Arts because we know that God has given every student unique talents and gifting that we want to help them discover, develop, and deploy! Fine Arts is a great discipleship and growing opportunity for your students! If your student hasn’t participated in Fine Arts in the past then I want to encourage you to give it a try. If your student has participated then I am sure you know the benefits of Fine Arts! Please make plans to attend our Fine Arts Parent Meeting on October 17th following our Wednesday Night RSM Service in the Youth Chapel. Because Fine Arts requires a great commitment we are requiring students participating in Fine Arts to be regular attenders of RSM on Wednesday Nights. Please attend the parent meeting for more information!
